SICK introduces a new range of absolute
encoders with Ethernet capability that enables the plant to network like
‘there’s no tomorrow’.
SICK has added three popular Ethernet variants (EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT and
PROFINET) to its proven AFS60/AFM60 single and multi-turn absolute encoder
range.
The Ethernet-capable absolute encoders increase peace of mind and reduce
operation and installation costs by integrating into an existing factory
Ethernet network without the need for expensive adaptor cards or bus interfaces.
The new Ethernet encoders enable Ethernet-based industrial networks to
communicate with all the positioning devices in the facility.
SICK’s new range of Ethernet absolute encoders delivers advantages such as easy
installation, space-saving compact housings, precise positioning with optical
18-bit single turn resolution, and enhanced reliability due to device level
ring topology.
Extensive diagnostic functions including overvoltage and over temperature have
also been included to offer real added value and benefits for the end user.
Status display is realised by five LEDs and the unit is addressable via DHCP or
DEC switches.
