Adidas unveils sensor-enabled Feather 2 everyday running shoe
Not only has Adidas just released its new Adidas AdiZero Tempaia 2.0 trainer for women, it has also released a newer version of the ultra lightweight Adidas AdiZero Feather 2, announced July 22.
The Adizero Feather 2 now features a miCoach cavity embedded into
the shoe, which lets wearers insert the new miCoach SPEED_CELL. Using the
miCoach sensor, runners can record up to eight hours of performance data,
including distance, speed, pace, time, and number of sprints, as well as time
and distance in speed zones, and provides personal data to share and compare
with friends.
The look and feel of the Adizero Feather 2 can also be found in the Adizero
Prime, the lightweight sprint spike (3.5oz./99g, men's size UK 8.5), which will
be worn by Adidas athletes Yohan Blake, Jessica Ennis and Tyson Gay at the
London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Feather 2 weighs an impressively light 6.7oz./190g for a men's
UK size 8.5 and 5.6oz./160g for a women's UK size 5.5.
The Brooks PureProject is also unrolling its latest lightweight and flexible
running shoe, PureDrift. Staying true to the PureProject line, the PureDrift
sports a beveled heel and asymmetrical toe box but also features a dual-split
toe and removable insole.
Meanwhile, there are a flurry of minimalist running shoes to choose from, from
the cushion-free Vibram Fivefingers and Merrell Barefoot shoes to something with
a bit more structure, including the New Balance Minimus Trail and Altra
Instinct.
