New Wafer-Style Electromagnetic Flowmeter Available From ABB
Modular design offers flexibility, cost-saving operation, and reliability while providing a long service life and exceptionally low maintenance. ABB’s Measurement Products’ business has introduced the
advanced ProcessMaster Wafer (flangeless) FEM300 Minimag flowmeter. This electromagnetic flowmeter comes in 1/10" through 4" (DN 3 through DN100) sizes and with a Tefzel liner. Standard electrode choices include Hastelloy C, Tantalum, and Platinum/Iridium.
Using a higher excitation frequency for the transmitter, the Wafer Minimag flowmeter offers especially short response time. The universal transmitter design simplifies spare parts inventory and reduces inventory costs. The transmitter may be integral with the sensor or remotely located.
Advanced data storage within the sensor eliminates the need to match sensor and transmitter in the field. The factory-set parameters can be modified quickly and easily without opening the housing via the user-friendly display and soft-key buttons. The unit rejects invalid entries.
The Minimag easily integrates into ABB asset management systems. Having advanced digital signal processing, the device improves accuracy even under difficult conditions by separating the measurement from the noise. Sophisticated diagnostic functions monitor both its own condition and that of the process. Status messages follow NAMUR standards. The Minimag comes standard with HART communications protocol. Approvals for explosion-proof protection are in accordance with FM, cFM Class I Division 2.
