Sensorex, a provider
of sensor technologies and systems for water applications, has introduced new
“Calomel Free” pH and Reference Electrodes without mercury. The environmentally
friendly electrodes are suitable for laboratory, commercial and industrial
applications.
Sensorex “Calomel Free” pH and Reference Electrodes
The
electrodes have an Ag/AgCl-based double junction reference that has a special
silver ion trap. This trap helps prevent any contamination that may occur with
the sample that may be sensitive to silver. Further, the reference output can
provide the same output as delivered by Calomel electrodes that use silver
chloride for reference, through adjustment.
Sensorex
is offering the Calomel Free pH electrodes in two types of bodies - chemically
resistant thermoplastic that is unbreakable, and in a glass body. The
electrodes are offered in sealed and refillable models. The sealed models are
filled with gel and are maintenance-free, while refillable reference
electrolyte can be used to increase the life of the refillable design models.
The electrodes are also offered in combination models that contain a reference
cell and a pH measuring cell within a single body. Sensorex is providing the
electrodes in various diameters and lengths.
The
electrodes can be interchanged with most meters. They possess a pH range of
0-14 (Na+ error >12.3 pH) and a temperature range of 0°C - 60°C. They have a
response speed greater than 95% in 1 second. The Sensorex “Calomel Free” pH
electrodes have an isopotential point of pH 7.00 (0 mV) with a 97% or higher
span and ±0.20 pH offset.
