Balluff has launched a new set of BOS 18M photoelectric tubular sensors featuring multiple sensing models fitted in a sturdy metal housing.
Balluff BOS 18M sensor is able to detect the smallest of parts, with maximum precision and reliability
The entire range of sensors exhibits maximum precision and sophistication with advanced function reserve and long range sensing potential.
The BOS 18M models comprise red light and infrared sensors with retro-reflective, thru-beam and energetic diffuse features. They are provided with a potentiometer to ensure accurate setup and LED indicators that are highly visible to allow adjustment. The essential advantage of this family of photoelectric sensors is the wide range light spot feature coupled with greater visibility. The metal housing enables the infrared and red light sensor types to be easily alternated.
The sensors can be used in strongly illuminated indoor areas and also in daylight as it is designed with the latest Fresnel lenses and LED technology. This enables clear contours which accurately replicates the switching area. Another component in the new sensors is the optical band-pass filters, which prevent high levels of ambient light from both the sun and man-made light sources. Repeat accuracy matched with precise switching response make the BOS 18M an excellent choice for difficult positioning tasks.
The red light sensors have an additional version featuring enhanced background suppression. This one of the kind version has been specially fitted with a multi-turn potentiometer that will be able to set distance with millimeter precision.
